Radio Shows | Lippodissolve | mp3 … wma … wav
We know you’re bombarded with medical news whether on television or in the paper that sometimes sounds improbable. So, we try on this show to make sure anything that does sound fantastic, really is.
But even therapies that seem great now may have unknown long term effects. That’s why you have to be cautious and not jump at the latest fad. For example, what if I told you a simple injection would dissolve fatty tissue?
It may sound too good to be true but it’s a therapy being marketed today. Lippodisolve, as it’s called, is injected directly under the skin’s surface into a layer called the mesoderm. This procedure is also marketed under names like Lipostabil, Lipo-zap, flabjab and meso therapy. But none of it has been researched fully or approved by the FDA.
The societies for plastic surgeons and dermatologists are wary and say it’s too early to call the procedure effective or in the long term – SAFE. The reported complications include bacterial infection, significant inflammation and localized tissue death – serious stuff.
Lippodisolve involves injecting chemicals into fat tissue just under the skin into subcutaneous fat. You don’t need anesthesia but it does require multiple injections. For example a fatty jaw line calls for more than 50 shots. Wow, this is not for anyone afraid of needles!
Right now Lipodissolve is administered in one to three treatments about every six weeks. If you did a search of the web you will find people who say they had great results and that the procedure changed their lives. Others are less enthusiastic.
If it works and is proven safe, it is a great alternative to liposuction and spares patients the pain and risks of surgery. But for now, Lippodisolve’s effectiveness and safety remain questionable.
